In 2015, a small group of investors backed a little-known Zambian copper company called Moxico Resources.
Over the following decade, Moxico grew into a business valued at more than £1 billion, with early investors achieving returns of over 200x.
Today, many of those same investors are participating in a new venture.
TerraZar Resources is closing a Friends & Family financing to acquire and advance high-potential copper and gold projects, beginning with a major land position in Zambia.
Our flagship Kansanshi West Project lies just 4 kilometres from First Quantum’s Kansanshi Mine, Africa’s largest copper mine. We are also advancing the Mukatamwene Project, where exploration has identified multiple priority copper targets.
In total, TerraZar now controls more than 113,000 hectares of prospective ground in Zambia and is building a venture platform focused on acquiring, advancing and monetising mineral projects through exploration success, joint ventures, strategic transactions and future spin-outs.
The current financing values TerraZar at a £9 million pre-money valuation. Funds will be used to advance drilling, exploration and new acquisitions.
We are also in the process of closing a £1 million cornerstone investment alongside the Friends & Family financing.
Most participants in the current round are investing between £5,000 and £50,000, including a number of individuals who previously invested in Moxico.
While no investment is without risk and past performance is not indicative of future results, we believe the combination of team, jurisdiction, timing and asset quality creates a compelling opportunity.
Due to continued interest, the Friends & Family round has been extended and will now close on Monday, 8th June.
